Just finished watching 'Wild Strawberries', which expounds the nostalgia/memories theory. 'Ingmar Bergman presents the past as a time of innocence before the faults of old age begin to creep in' , slightly contraian to the original post.

I found the movie to be very interesting, with gr8 dialogue( from the english subtitles :) ), and a bunch of interesting characters.
